We began working on this project five weeks ago and we were met with many obstacles. We had desktops that didn't work, laptops that didn't work, movie reviews and pictures that were blocked, student absences, but nothing compared to not really knowing how to write expository texts. The students in this class are Juniors and have not really been exposed to much besides personal narratives. This year, that has changed.
We began by learning what is required in expository writing, by reading some examples. Then, we made an outline of the basic and looked back at our examples. Finally, we discussed what we would like to write about and what format it could take.

I will provide the link to an accessible Google Doc that holds our magazine. We have moved into creating children's books and I have promised to scan their creations and publish them here. I also want to add in some of their other essays, as we have already accumulated several other that we can share.
